Brewed May, bottled June 2007.
I steeped crystal malt in warm water, keeping the water warm for 30 mins. Whilst this was happening, I brought 2Lt water to the boil and added the brew enhancer.
After 30 mins, added the Hops to crystal malt, and boiled for 15 mins.
I then added both Coopers kits to the brew enhancer, stirred for 15 mins, cooled and poured into fermenter. Then I added the strained grain/hop mix, and added water to 25Lt. I dry pitched the yeast at ~25°C.
I left this go for a couple of weeks brewing.
Bulk primed with 120g dextrose Dextrose.
Tasting notes
This is a strong beer, not for the faint-hearted. Oh, and it really is ‘bitter’ – as it should be, given its style. It also has a well-rounded mouthfeel, and a hoppy, bitter aroma. Great colour!
