Silly me forgot to record the details of this first test-batch, but it is roughly the same as the test-batch mentioned in the previous post.
The only difference is that there was less ginger, and some minor variations in regards to amounts and ratios of sugars. There was also less yeast.
Anyway, this was in the bottle for 2-3 weeks (again: let this be a reminder to all good home-brewers to keep articulate and accurate notes in order to be able to reproduce a brew if and/or when necessary!
). I have to say that I was unsure of the taste of this when I sampled it during bottling, but it has come through OK – but nowhere near perfect (nor in my humble opinion reproducible)!
There is too much of what I call the ‘meths taste’ for my liking; but from my experience with GB so far, it does take longer to prime than beer. Will be interesting to try in another month or so…
